Try MagiClip
A walk through the whole journey using fictional casework pages and a demo forms library, all hosted on this site. It takes about ten minutes.
Everything under /demo/ is made up: Northshire Council, its clients and its forms. Nothing you type into the demo forms is sent anywhere, because the forms only move between pages on this site.
Before you start
- Use Firefox on a desktop computer.
- Install MagiClip. Mozilla reviewers already have the add-on under review. For a demo, use the signed copy you were given, or load an unsigned build: open
about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox, choose Load Temporary Add-on… and select themanifest.jsonin theextension/folder. - Open the MagiClip sidebar with its toolbar button.
1. Connect the demo forms library
- In the sidebar, open the Settings tab.
- Enter the library address
https://magiclip.surprisingly.ltd/demo/library/and press Connect. - Firefox asks whether MagiClip may access
magiclip.surprisingly.ltd. Choose Allow. MagiClip downloads the library, checks every file against its manifest and lists three forms.
2. Start a case
- Go back to the Case tab.
- Tick Housing support referral and Discretionary housing payment.
- Press Start case. The button names both forms. The case lists the fields both forms need.
3. Clip values from the case system
- Open Client NC-1042: Maria Kowalska. The first time, the sidebar asks for access to this site: press Allow on magiclip.surprisingly.ltd.
- Press Clip this page. The values fill the case, each linked to where it came from.
- Open the rent account and clip it. Its phone number disagrees with the client record, so the sidebar shows 1 conflict to decide. Press Use this next to the value you trust.
- Clip employment and income and the case notes as well.
4. See the identity check
- Open Client NC-2077: David Okafor, a different person, and press Clip this page.
- The sidebar warns This may be a different person before anything else.
- Press Undo this clip, keep Wrong person selected, and press Remove clip. Everything that depended on that clip is cleared, and the page is removed from the activity log.
5. Fill a form
- Open the Discretionary housing payment form and press Fill this form in the sidebar.
- A fill plan lists what will go in each box, what is missing and what stays empty. Nothing touches the page yet. Press Fill n boxes.
- Check the form and submit it yourself, because MagiClip never submits. The confirmation page is recognised, and its reference is recorded in the case.
- Try the Housing support referral form the same way.
6. Look around
- ⤢ opens the full case page with Fields, Sources and Activity. Back to the sidebar returns you to where you were.
- Tools: the calculator finds the payments that add up to the arrears, the timeline shows gaps between dates in the case, and the reader takes text from a PDF or a picture you drop in. All three run on your computer.
- Privacy: Check this page and Highlight on page show the personal data MagiClip would redact before an AI request. Loading the on-device model downloads about 920 MB from Hugging Face and needs WebGPU. It is optional for the demo.
- Settings → Open the library shows the library’s forms and profiles. On the demo index, which no profile reads, Make a profile for this page starts a draft that you pick on the page and test before use.
- Settings → Check MagiClip is ready runs the readiness checks. Copy diagnostics copies a report with no case data in it.
The ✦ AI actions need an organisation’s own AI gateway, and the public demo has none. You can still open a ✦ action’s preview to see what would be redacted, but nothing is sent. Everything else works.
7. Finish the case
- Press Finish case. The dialog lists what was filled and what wasn’t.
- Tick the confirmation and press Finish and delete data. The case and its values are deleted, and the receipt that remains names no one.

Running the demo on your own computer
From the source archive, run pnpm install then pnpm demo, and use the library address http://localhost:8787/demo/library/ instead. The pages are the same.
